My LifeStyle Challenge take 2

This is the second time I have gone through a full 30 days of the Whole30.  Second time was really easy compared to the first go.  This is by far the best way to lose belly fat.  I lose inches off my waist everytime I stick to a strict or the cheat meals on Saturday only approach.  I lost 5 pounds this time and another 2 inches off my waistline.  

For me the best part of the diet is not the weight loss component, its how well my body responds to better eating.  Dairy-- I stay away from it for the most part (pizza once in a while).  Milk makes me feel bloated and puts fat on my waist quickly.  Cereal-  Anytime I reintroduce one of my kids sugary cereals, I feel sick.  I dropped deserts for over 5 months last year and now my sweet tooth is quite diminished.  The biggest impact though was beer.  Beer makes me congested and bloated.  I feel run down like I am getting a cold.  I have learned that drinking beer screws up my stomach and sinuses. If I want to enjoy a beer, I now know what the consequences will be. Interestingly enough, the only time I got a sinus infection was over Christmas break when I ate poorly, ate cake and cookies/candy, ice cream and drank beer.  I just dont want to do that again.  Eating Whole30 for me = I dont get colds/sick.   

Moving forward, going Whole30 90% of the time will make me feel better long term.  I like the extra weight I can drop but more importantly, I just feel better.  My energy levels stay stable throughout the day.  I find that working out a noon gives me an extra boost late in the day while I finish up work.  I sleep better (most nights all the way through) and wake up happy as opposed to bloated with a headache.  This is a lifestyle of discipline and I love it!
