Competition Meeting

We are holding meeting about competition in the sectionals and our family day competition. Saturday 1/19/2010 at 9am. The cool think about sectionals competition is that everyone can do it and it will be fun. We will be hosting some of these events as well so just think of it as another WOD. xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

 

The CF Games are coming up and we want EVERYONE to participate in the Open Sectionals, which is held in March for 6 weeks.  If you want to try out for the CFStrong Team, you must compete in open sectionals.  Only CFS members that workout at CFS ONLY will be allowed to compete on our CFS team. 

 

This meeting is for ANYONE.  Let me repeat…ANYONE.  You do not have to be an elite athlete to participate.   Remember…Crossfit is for EVERYONE. 

 

If you know you have things to work on – GREAT…don’t we all??  If you don’t think you are fast enough – GREAT…let’s work on that.  If you are puking after every workout – not so great….but let’s look at your nutrition.  This meeting is to take you to the next level – where ever that may be. 

 

We will discuss the process of the CF Games, local competitions, programming & nutrition.  We want everyone to be apart!  RSVP RSVP RSVP!!

    Maybe hat  instead of towel  but I get the gist, and I will be there unless I miss the turn again Saturday morning!

    Competition is a state of mind - if you are starting to feel complacent in anything you do at the box, then you need to attend and choose to participate in these upcoming workouts.  Don't think of it as competing against some world-class athletes....think of it as challenging and competing against yourself to bring your Crossfit to the next level.    Whether you are a beginner or an experienced CFer, we should see everyone at the box throwing in the towel and making the effort to perform these workouts!    Get some!

    Well, I AM NOT ready for competition for sure, but if you say so...maybe I will attend to see if there is something that I might be able to handle.

    Ditto Ash and Matt - put your fears and self-doubt aside.  Don't worry if you're far from perfect in your abilities or if you know you have skills that aren't yet "quite there."   It's about choosing your attitude, putting the ego or fear aside that might be holding you back, and then show up and give it a shot!  You might actually surprise yourself and the experience you gain through participating in this type of format will be invaluable.  This is gonna be fun!   RSVP, RSVP!

    As someone that just saw his first "event" and had the good fortune of getting to play part of an awesome CFS team, I am more than excited to prepare and take part in the sectional competition. If my limited exposure means anything, these events have a tremendous amount to offer to those new to crossfit and those that have been with it for some time. I learned a tremendous deal about what crossfit is, the incredible family that CFS has, and also the importance of what the coaches preach every day - check your egos, work on technique, and take the time at CF to work on improvements of both your self and your abilities. I'm truly excited to see what everyone else at CFS will do this spring and hope every single person tries it out. Finally a shout out to ScottyB for yesterdays WOD, minutes after Scotty asked me if he could have competed in Austin in the 40+ he seriously whopped 6:30's butt in that WOD...Scotty, I think you'll do just fine...

    they will be running over a 6week span starting March 15 - 1 WOD each week.
