    I am loving crossfit, I honestly look forward to the classes each week.  I think what I need to concentrate on more is slowing down enough during the workout to get the forms right.  I get really excited to complete the activities with a quick time that I jeopardize my form and I really felt lower back pain the other day after dead lifts, yikes!

  • Crossfit - changes

    So having parcipated in Crossfit workouts for a little over 7 months now, Ive noticed a lot of changes.

    1. Ive realized I can do more than I thought I could even when I feel like falling over from exhaustion.  The minds a pretty crazy thing.  If you feel like giving up or stopping during your workout, just take about 30 seconds to recoup and then give it another shot/round/set.  Happens again, same workout?  30 more seconds, repeat.  Youll be surprised by the r...   • Running - Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

    So... some more running paths... Arbor Hills Nature Preserve (Plano, TX).

    This is my favorite place to run nearby where I live.  The 4.4 mile trail is concrete and overall the park is managed very well and is kept clean.  The best part about this place?  The hills.  Theyre everywhere, theres only about two or three spots where you get an even grade otherwise its all uphill, or down.  Try sprinting uphill and jogging down.

  • Runing - White Rock Lake

    If youre looking for a great place to run in Dallas... hit up White Rock Lake. 

    Its a drive to get there for a lot of people but the paths are great it has 9.33 miles of concrete trails for running and cycling.  Most of the cyclists stick to the streets that run parallel so youll usually just pass by other runners and walkers.  The scenery provides a "fresh air" feeling since the wind blows off the water keeping the area pretty cool even during the summer.
